Guides, not consultancy
We publish practical writing about search and digital marketing: keyword work, on-page and technical SEO, content, local search and links. It is background reading for people doing the work themselves, not a consultancy engagement, and nothing here creates any professional relationship between us and a reader.
No promise about results
Search engines change their ranking systems constantly and without notice, and identical tactics produce different outcomes in different markets. Anything described on this site as effective was effective in the circumstances we observed. Nobody should read it as a guarantee of traffic, rankings or revenue, and any decision to apply it to a live site rests with the person making it.
Currency of the material
Every article shows its publication date. Guides written against an older version of a search product may now be partly or wholly obsolete; we date rather than silently rewrite them. Corrections are welcome via the contact page.
Our text
The writing and the layout on this site belong to its operator. Linking to a guide is encouraged and needs no permission. Reproducing one — on a blog, in a course, inside a client deliverable — does need permission.
Third parties, tools and advertising
Guides name commercial tools and platforms, and the site carries advertising and links to other websites. Pricing, features and terms belong to those companies and change without reference to us; what happens on their side of a link is their responsibility, not ours. Naming a tool is not an endorsement of it.
Limitation of liability
The site is supplied as-is and without warranty. So far as the law allows, we accept no liability for loss of traffic, revenue, data or anything else arising from use of the site or reliance on its contents.
